Bedford Medical Centre operates an “Appointment Only”
system for the doctors and nurses. We endeavour to offer appointments with the GP of your choice. However, on those occasions when this is not possible, our medical secretaries will be able to advise you of the alternatives available.
We always see sick children on a same-day basis. For adult patients, we do also aim to provide reliable availability when your illness requires it. We would ask that you consider whether you can wait for a routine appointment.
If you are not sure, or you are acutely unwell, the receptionist will arrange for the doctor to contact you by telephone. To facilitate this, we retain a limited number of “same-day” appointments with each doctor.
Please try to book well in advance (two weeks)
for planned medical visits. We would ask that in the case of a routine matter, patients would pre-book these appointments at least two weeks in advance.
For emergencies please call 046 90 21369 and ask to speak to the doctor urgently. Ambulance Services are contacted by ringing 999 or 112, if you can please have your Eircode ready to tell the operator.
To Make an Appointment
To book an appointment please call 046-9021369. Routine appointments are ten minutes
in duration and we would ask that patients kindly adhere to this time if at all possible. If you feel you may need a longer appointment time, please inform our medical secretaries who will do their best to facilitate your request.
If more than one family member needs an appointment, please book a separate appointment for each patient.
If you cannot keep your appointment please notify us in good time so that another patient can have this appointment.
Home visits, when necessary, should be requested where possible BEFORE 11am
to allow the doctor best manage his daily workload.
